Frank Dooley & Son has marked the completion of a major refurbishment of its Liverpool Road funeral home in Widnes with a special service celebrating its heritage and reaffirming its commitment to local families.
Community representatives, colleagues, friends and guests joined the Frank Dooley & Son team for a service of rededication and thanksgiving, led by Father Martin Kershaw, alongside Deacon Paul and celebrant Carmel Rourke.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to reflect on the funeral home’s long history. The Dooley family’s connection to the profession dates back more than a century, with roots in St Helens before establishing a permanent presence in Widnes in the early 1990s.
Speaking during the service, Kieron Dooley, Business Principal at Frank Dooley & Son, highlighted the importance of both the refurbishment and the funeral home’s continuing role within the local community. He noted that while the building has been transformed, the values that have guided the business for generations remain unchanged: compassion, dignity, professionalism and service.
The refurbishment has created a more welcoming, comfortable and supportive environment for families arranging a funeral or visiting a loved one.
